Strengths: Excellent sound quality, portability, built in reverb and compression, backlit pads.

Weaknesses: Ability to add more sounds.

Review: When I first saw this machine I knew I had to have it. just the look of it is awsume. The built in drum sound and the abillty to customize makes this a must have. Sure there are better more expensive drum machines out there, but for hip hop this one is a no brainer. If you've ever wanted to own a drum machine or experiment with making your own beats then the akai ar 20 is for you.

Strengths: Well built, highly adjustable, outstanding Pearl quality

Review: Of course all muscial equipment taste is subjective. However, for my money (which I spent), this is the consomate double bass pedal. I have not yet tried the DW 9002, but I can favorably compare this to the DW 5002. The 9002 is much more expensive too. If you are serious about your double-bassing, then you should at least try this before buying your pedals.
